Industry leaders have urged the State government to intervene after trucking platform BlackBuck announced it would leave its Bellandur office on the Outer Ring Road (ORR), citing poor infrastructure and long commutes.
On Tuesday, BlackBuck Co-Founder and CEO Rajesh Yabaji said in a post on X: "ORR (Bellandur) has been our 'office + home' for the last nine years. But it's now very, very hard to continue here. We have decided to move out."
Former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai called it a “big failure” of governance and appealed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, IT Minister Priyank Kharge and City officials to act.
"Minister DK Shivakumar, please see, cos are moving out of ORR. Situation beyond hope. Please intervene," he said in a post on 'X' on Tuesday.
Biocon Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw urged Shivakumar to take emergency measures to fix these issues.
"This is serious. Emergency measures needed to fix these issues, Shivakumar," she said on X.
The Greater Bengaluru IT Companies & Industries Association warned that neglect of ORR was driving companies away, and urged a transparent roadmap on roads, metro and utilities.
Shivakumar recently announced a Rs 1,100 crore allocation for road repairs and construction, promising smooth, pothole-free roads across all City constituencies.
